Section to be added to Western Europe-Western China corridor
An additional section will be included in the Western Europe - Western China International transit corridor. The relevant amendments to the Agreement between Kazakhstan and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development were approved at the plenary session of Parliament.
As noted in the parliamentary committee’s conclusion, the amendments to the Loan Agreement between Kazakhstan and the IBRD provide for the inclusion of an additional section Balkhash-Burybaytal - 297 kilometers of the Center-South corridor. "The reconstruction of the Balkhash-Burybaytal section is aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Center-South corridor and creating an advanced infrastructure of the country's transport system. Reconstruction of this section of the highway is provided for by the Nurly Zhol state program for 2015-2019," the conclusion says.
