Transit-Kazakhstan presents 107 companies from 10 countries

From 18 to 20 September, Almaty is hosting the annual Transit-Kazakhstan 2013 transport and logistics exhibition in Pavilion 10 of the Atakent exhibition centre. 107 companies are participating in the exhibition from 10 countries: Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, Finland and Estonia.

Transit-Kazakhstan 2013 showcases a full range of industry solutions: from forwarding services to software and equipment for cargo handling.

Railway transport infrastructure will be showcased by the national operators of Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan Temir Zholy), Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsy), Lithuania (Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai), Latvia (Latvijas dzelzceļš) and Russia (Russian Railways).

The maritime transport section at the exhibition will be represented by the trading ports of Aktau (Kazakhstan), Ventspils, Liepaja and Riga (Latvia). The Ukrferry Ukrainian shipping company is participating in the exhibition for the first time.

Kazakhstani companies form the foundation of the exhibition and occupy 51% of all exhibition space. Among the large domestic companies are: Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Aktau International Sea Port, ENRC Logistics, KTZ-Express, Tengri Trans Cargo, Universal Logistics, Your Logistics Partner, Interrail Kazakhstan, NSSC Kazmortransflot, Kaztemirtrans, Kaztransservice, Kedentransservice, Lomer Point Bridge, Transsystema and others.

Kazakhstan aside, the leading countries by exhibitor numbers are Russia (18%) and Latvia (13%).

Russia is represented by large companies such as: RZD Trading House, Transcontainer, Transmashholding, Ust-Lug Container Terminal, STM, SDS_Mash Holding Company and others.

A new section, Storage equipment and services, was introduced for the first time this year. The Kazakhstani companies Petrotall Group and Recom Shelves Mobili, as well as the Russian company Polymetall-M, will showcase technological equipment and storage aids, storage complexes and automated storage systems.

Wagon and container manufacturers are widely represented by factories from Kazakhstan, Latvia (Daugavpis), Ukraine (Azovmash and Kryukovsk) and Russia. Belarus will be represented by the Brest electrotechnical plant. Exhibitors include companies specialising in various modes of cargo transportation and logistics.

The exhibition will also showcase the Lithuanian National Road Carriers Association (LINAVA), StraightWay Finland which represents a network of more than 50 Finnish companies and ports, and also the Association of National Freight Forwarders of Kazakhstan.

Two events took place on 18 September at Transit-Kazakhstan 2013:

  • An agreement of intent will be signed on the implementation of the Yuzhnouralskiy Transport and Logistics Complex, with participation from Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the Government of the Chelyabinsk Region of Russia, and Logic Land.
  • Official presentation: 10 Years of the Baltic Transit train, organised by Latvian Railways together with FESCO transport group.
Official support of the exhibition: Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the Kazakhstan Association of Carriers and Wagon Operators, the Association of National Freight Forwarders of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and diplomatic missions of participating countries.

Since its launch in 1997, Transit-Kazakhstan has become the most important Central Asian event for transport, logistics, machine building and related industries. In 2014, the exhibition will be held from 20 to 22 May at the Korme Exhibition Centre, Astana.
