Cargo traffic in 2018 increases by 60%

On January 28, 2019, Sauat Mynbayev, the Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, met with the heads of the railways, members of the United Transport and Logistics Company, the Eurasian Railway Alliance in Moscow, the KTZh press service reported.

The leaders of the railway administrations noted the outpacing growth in traffic volumes in the past year compared with the planned figures. In 2018, the volume of freight traffic increased by 60% compared with 2017. Up to 65% increased load container trains in the direction of West-East.

“Successful implementation of the UTLC project will contribute to the development of cargo transportation within the Eurasian Economic Union,” the meeting participants noted.
