Volumes of transportation jumped by 7% on-year, cargo turnover by 9%
The volume of cargo transportation for January-July of 2018 increased by 6.7% on-year, to 2.2 billion tonnes. A year earlier, the growth was 3.6%.
Throughput of all types of transport in January-July of this year amounted to 333.6 billion tkm, which is 9.4% more than in the same period last year.
In the same period of 2017, annual growth was 7.6%.
Among the regions of Kazakhstan, the volume of transportations decreased only in the Pavlodar region. The Karaganda region is the leader by volume at 431.8 million tonnes, which is 7% more than the same period last year. The share from country total remained unchanged at 19.5%.
Next is East Kazakhstan at 324.5 million tonnes, with growth by 9.4%. The share increased from 14.3% to 14.7%.
On the third place is the Kostanay region at 161.8 million tonnes, growth for the year by 3.2%. The share decreased from 7.6% to 7.3%.
